Doctors’ vacation creates inconvenience for police candidates
The police candidates who are keenly interested in joining the police force are unable to do so because they are yet to receive their medical certificate. The reason is that the hospital doctors are on vacation and hence the medical certificate has not been issued. This has caused a delay in the recruitment process for the police candidates.
There are 996 vacant posts for police constables and drivers in Mira-Bhayander and Vasai-Virar jurisdiction. Since the month of January, the police force has been recruiting candidates who are eligible for the position. Before taking the recruitment exam, one has to submit all the relevant documents and medical certificates.
The medical tests are being conducted in Bhayander West at Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Hospital. The candidates have the duration from 2nd to 15th May to get all their documents & certificates submitted. It is compulsory to do a medical check-up before they can take the recruitment exam. But the physician doctors are on vacation and there is no chance to get any medical certificate due to the absence of doctors.
Once the doctors are back on duty (9th May) and then begin the process is likely to cause delays for these candidates. It is a problematic situation for them and they are likely to face consequences due to the delay caused.
Deputy Police Commissioner, Prakash Gaikwad said the department did not receive any information regarding this issue. Once we get notified about it, we’ll come up with a solution so that candidates don’t face such problems in future.
